Sepultura - Hellfest 2022 – @ARTE Concert

Attention weather alert: we announce a storm of blasts coupled with a suffocating tropical humidity in the heart of Nantes! At the heart of this maelstrom, the Brazilian phenomenon @Sepultura who comes to pour their angry trash metal and his unstoppable hardcore riffs on the Altar stage.

Founded in Belo Horizonte in 1984 - in a context of police repression and the end of the military dictatorship - Sepultura committed very early on to explosive metal combining elements of thrash, death, groove and a very noticed protest writing. It was the album Roots (1996) and its title "Roots Bloody Roots" (accompanied by a legendary clip) that crowned the Brazilians on the international metal scene.

More than thirty years later - and even if only bassist Paulo Jr. remains of the original formation - Sepultura has lost none of its aura. Need proof? The album The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart (2013) met with phenomenal success, as did the opus Quadra released in 2020.
