Sent from his home planet as a baby, shortly before it was destroyed, Megamind has come off worse as he arrived on Earth at the same time as Metroman (from a planet neighbouring Megamind's planet - also sent as a baby, before his home planet was destroyed).  Metroman is the hero of Metro City, while Megamind has become the villain.    The one day the unexpected happens, Megamind actually defeats Metroman, leaving Megamind without any challenge.
