We'll soon be upgrading the site forum to something more modern in the first step in a series of updates to the site that will be coming through the course of the year.
The new forum should be faster and more efficient that the currently, not just running faster on the server but also downloading faster to you due to improved HTML layout!
Until the new forum is up and running, we have suspended new forum registrations as we prepare the data migration.

provisionally I'll be aiming to get the upgrade done this weekend. Got a bug or two to sort out, hopefully I'll have time to fix them by then.

There have been a couple of delays, however the migration scripts have been finished and things are looking good, so expect the change over to happen pretty soon.

The upgrade is done now, a couple of small problems encountered during the process, but overall seems to have gone pretty smoothly!!
