a group of actors trying to shoot as Vietnam movie find themselves being sent into the jungle to produce the movie 'guerilla' style. Little do they know that the 'enemy' soldiers they encounter are not actually actors and think it's an American invasion. Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr and Jack Black star in Tropic Thunder, which is looking like it's going to be a really funny movie.

The trailer doesn't indicate it, however there have been rumours that this movie is going to be fairly high rated (R in the States and possible 15 or 18 in the UK). Will find out more nearer the time, however checkout the trailer at FirstShowing.net

Ok, I saw this this morning and I was bitterly disappointed. Lots of scenes had to be cut, which made certain parts of it just feel unfinished (some scenes were considered not PC, so they appear to have cut anything that is a little risky). The plot was good, but they didn't really develop it enough. It did have some humourers moments but nothing really stuck (it was a bit like slapstick comedy).
Overall, I suggest you see it but it does not live up to the hipe.

which version did you see? not sure if the UK will have a different cut to the US.
I thought being un-PC was the point of the film, seems odd they would cut it :(

I saw the US version. The reason it got cut in the end was because the president of the special Olympics said it was too offensive. Which is odd because I asked someone who has a disability and they said it look funny.

*Rogem says something about putting someone (who does not understand) in charge and how it's a bad thing*

*Also, Stevie if you press edit after posting someone it removes most the formatting :'(

I know, anyone see the ironicalness of the guy who is loaded because he films special people doing Olympics saying exploiting special people is wrong? - Dude that makes me sound evil :P

You could watch a pirate for free, then decide weather to buy a good copy. Or buy it then return it if it's crap.

Heh, by the time they normally come out in the UK the pirates have got their hands on a DVD rip and placed it on the net. You could always work for the MPAA, then you get to watch the dvd pre-release for free.

Not to mention free popcorn, that stuff has a 10,000% mark-up (The pot costs more then the product). You could just borrow their DVD of the movie and then pirate it...sell it to people and you in the money with honey.
