Following on from the successful Batman Begins comes the follow up to the revitalised franchise, The Dark Knight.

As suggested at the end of the first movie, The Joker is here as the main villain of the film, with Heath Ledger giving a very twisted and evil portrayal of Batmans most famous enemy.

Christian Bale returns as Batman, with Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Gary Oldman also returning in their key roles. New faces on the set are Maggie Gyllenhaal, replacing Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes and Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent (although Harvey Dent is the character that eventually turns into Two Face, there has been no visual evidence yet of this actually happening in this movie... we'll have to wait and see)

i just saw it last night and it was absolutely AMAZING! it had a great story line and awesome effects and there were some twists in there that i did NOT see coming! it was just...there really are no words.
but its one of those movies that are fan-freaking-tastic when you see it in theaters and then you're still thinking about it later too.
i HIGHLY recommend seeing it in theaters. it'll change your life.

Good to see that kind of feedback, I was always worried that it might not live up to the hype!

Still a week or two until it is out over here in the UK, I'm definitely looking forward to it :)

I was seeing in the news today that it's set the record for the best US weekend ever of $155m (beating Spiderman3, which managed $151m), it also set the best day record as well, with $66.4m on Friday (again, beating Spiderman3, $59.8m ).
It's likely to do just as well around the world, so lets hope this is the one that finally beats Titanic's record worldwide gross takings!

absolutely amazing. honestly, i couldnt believe it. definitely my most favorite film of the year. i was mesmerized by Heath Ledger's performance playing the Joker. i thought the role could only belong to Jack Nicholson but seriously...Ledger owns it

Yeah, it was a brilliant film. Great acting all round, great action scenes and some good twists and unexpected plot developments. A very worthy film, probably better than Batman Begins, which is quite an achievement.

Good to see it's doing very well, has made $400m in 18 days in the US (previous, the fastest movie to $400m was Shrek 2 in 42 days) and is now being tipped for beating Titanics record US box office takings. Hopefully the movie industry will take note that if they make good films they will do well!
