Not sure how I managed to forget to post this one before! Saw the Golden Compass at the weekend and it was very good. Plenty of adventure and action all tied together well with a solid story. Well worth checking out (and there are talking polar bears fighting, rather brutally, you can't go wrong with that!!) http://www.apple.com/trailers/newline/thegoldencompass/

Indeed... a good film, on par with the Harry Potter-y kid adventure fantasy... although had some more grewsome moments... the Polar Bear fight scene... I was thinking... s**t did that just happen??? COooool. I've read some reviews on the following two parts of the trilogy (novels) and it seems to get way more sinister. Yay!

yeah i've read the books and they aren't exactly your friendly neighborhood la la books. the things people do to each other is gross and sad.
and on another note, i'm completely mesmerized by h@h's avatar. thats hilarious and i'm wondering what the original looked like too.
