Will Smith stars in this adaptation of the classic novel that brought us the modern twist on the vampire tale (genetics, etc) back in the 50s. This version gives the story a modern setting, with Will Smith being the last human alive in New York. After a virus out break, everyone else is either dead, or one of 'them'. Further trailer up at Apple, http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/iamlegend/Also, a series of animated short stories relating to the movie are being released online, so far the two released are Awakening and Isolation. Oddly, Awakening is listed as Story 4, while Isolation is Story 3, even although they were released in this order (ie Awakening, then Isolation). Maybe it's a count down of stories. Horrible shooting today: I'm still shaking, I can't believe what happened just now. I was on the trip to the supermarket from work today on my bus, listening to my ipod and not paying much attention to anything. As we were stopping at one of the bus stops in Brooklyn, a girl in the back started screaming. I took my headphones off, looked back and saw her pointing out the window, and I followed her stare. Out in an unfenced cul-de-sac were 3 guys. Two of them standing, one of them was on the ground coverd in blood. The taller of the two men had a baseball bat and was about ready to smash it into his head again, when they realized a whole busload of commuters were looking at them. The bus driver started radioing in a 911 call, and then I saw the other man, who hadn't been doing anything, take a pistol out of his pocket and he shot the guy in the fookin head! The gun sounded really loud in that quiet dead end street. At this point the whole bus was in shock and glued to the windows of the bus. The two men got into a tinted windowed BMW and sped off. When I came home I was visibly shaken. I told my mum what I had just seen. Then my mum got scared, she said "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air." I whistled for a cab and when it came near, the license plate said "Fresh" and it had dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare but I thought "Nah, forget it, Yo homes, to Bel-Air!" I pulled up to the house about seven or eight and I yelled to the cabby, "Yo homes, smell ya later!" I looked at my kingdom, I was finally there, to sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-Air. I finally saw this a few nights ago and I thought it was pretty good. I thought it all worked pretty well, my only gripe would be about part of the ending (just the bit where he 'realises', thought that was unnecessary).
It wasn't an action-fest that I thought it might have been but that doesn't really detract from the film, which has Will barely coping with the lack of any other human company and then sees what's left of his world falling apart.

I saw it a few nights ago (I went to sealand!) I did enjoy it, but I was left feeling a bit "well erm" when asked why I was not amazed about it. I agree with Stevie and I feel some parts where somewhat unexplained and others pointless. Rogem Says: 7/10 - Worth the watch, but not moving. Full On Design

ok first of all, rogem, i hate you. i was like "no way" and then you went and had to be a *******.
and also, i saw and loved this movie, but you're right about a lot of unexplained stuff.
****SPOILERS WARNING****
like why was the head "vampire" so bent on getting will smith's character? i thought maybe that female he took was the guy's girlfriend or something. i was so confused!!!
so i guess that was just one...i know there are more but i can't really think of them right now.

*** spoilers *** yes, the head guy was the one that was watch Will Smith when he took the female, so it would seem he is protecting him family (going by their ages, I'd say it was his daughter). So the options are either a. they (or at least some of them) are more intelligent that Will Smith is giving them credit for, or b. there is just some primal instinct remaining to protect/avenge his family. Given the nature of the trap that they set, I'd have to go with A as the planing of that trap would have taken quite a level of intelligence to pull off.

indeed.. they were reasonably smart. The reason I was disappointed with the movie was I read a detailed synopsis of the book... <SPOILERS> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_am_legend</SPOILERS> I think this would have been a much better movie :)... don't read this stuff about the novel if you want to enjoy the movie more thoroughly :)

Will Smith is an amazing actor! I haven't seen I Am Legend yet, admittedly, but every other film/programme I have watched starring him showcased his exceptional talents. His performances are deep and he really gets into character. However, I have to admit, you are entitled to your own opinion =( Hehe, I think he's great anywho, and quite hot =S

yeah, he's got some great talent, seems like he can turn his hand to anything thrown at him. It's very rare that he does anything that isn't worth watching.
Don't think anyone had anything against Will Smith himself, I think that some people were just disappointed with the movie in general. My advise though is to go see it if you can :)
