Only a matter of hours now until the trailer for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV hits the web.

The official site has the countdown here:
http://www.rockstargames.com/IV/

With a release date of October, the game will be well on it's way to completion so there is a good possibility that there will be some significant insight into the game and not just a brief teaser!

On a separate issue, a rumour has now hit the web suggesting that GTA IV may actually be an Xbox360 exclusive!

http://thelastboss.com/post.phtml?pk=2504

The current facts certainly fit the rumour quite well, though I'd be surprised if this indeed was the case. Despite the arguement of Microsoft helping Take2 with financial issues, I'd assume that they would stand to earn more from actually selling the PS3 version as well.
Even if the rumour does have any substance, I would doubt that the exclusivity would be anything more than a few months.

As always Rockstar looks to be delivering a top class game. Cant wait to see what improvements theyve made to the gameplay.

Looks nice, very impressive city scapes! unfortunately it doesn't really have the same tounge-in-cheek feel that I liked about the earlier games. San Andreas and now this just seem to be taking themselves too seriously

Certainly looks like it's set in New York this time, though the CVG site insist that it is actually back in Liberty City again.

Looks very impressive. I like how it seems to be very big and very fun.
Like Stevie said, it does look like NY, though I doubt the graphics will be as amazing as the trailer.

I read a supposed interview that this is actual gameplay graphics... which I kind of expect... my mouth dropped when I saw saints row for the first time... the lighting is what makes next gen games appear incredibly detailed. The best thing I like about the gta games (aside from the main point of killing ;) is the scale of things. I loved the whole country side in san andreas. Made it really fun for me.

The game does seem kinda serious, but hey...cant have it all ;)

Wow... its been a year since anyone added a comment for this game, and its out Tuesday. I guess IM the only one excited about this. This game is looking astounding... and the actual multiplayer component seems too good to be true... but the fact that Rockstar is saying that GTA IV will have the impact that GTA III had in the industy, I can't help but think its going to blow my mind and waste my weekends away and ruin my marriage ;)

I'm think it's only me that isn't excited about GTA IV.

Will maybe check this out at my mates before I think about getting myself (if they can get it back in stock any time soon!)

I have a friend who has it on pre order, if it's good I might get it on PC (No way am I forking out for a ps3/360).

I understand why your not excited, in a sense it's just a new storyline to the GTA engine.

It's not that. I loved the very first one, and GTA3 was good, but I never actually played it that far through (think I didn't have the time), then I just never bothered checking out Vice City or San Andreas - guess I must have missed out there, so I don't have the 'GTA bug'.
Like you though, I'll probably hear my mates go on about it, so will have to try it out at some point!

I would recommend renting it, then cheating too see what the full game is like...then if that seems good go all out to get it and play it.

Yeah, it's got some new things to like (like all games), I'm not sure what exactly makes it stand out.

Ooooh, I've played it now and like I say in so many movie and games comments, I can't compare because I've not played any of the (other) games but it seemed really good. I was doing some missions and things which seemed cool and the graphics (to me) are really good :)

The graphics were nice and it was generally quite fun to play. Having said that though once you find the cheats it becomes like any other of the GTA games (Total fun, for about 10 minutes). Lots of my friends have said it's online mode was a bit naff compared with COD.
