Ok, here’s what I mean: Last Saturday while I was on my way to work, my car stalled, and that really freaked me out, so I turned around (I got it started again obviously) and drove back home. I told my mom and dad, through the tears, that I need a ride to work because 1: I was afraid that the car would stall out again while I was on the Freeway, and that the driver behind me wouldn’t see me in time, and hit me going 65+ mph, and 2: my boyfriend’s parents didn’t want him to risk hurting himself more by driving all the way to Sky Harbor Int. Nat. Airport from where I live in Glendale, Arizona, and 3: this is a new job, and I don’t want to look bad by being late after only working there for e few days.
Eventually, my mom drove me to work, but she told me that she WAS NOT going to pick me up because she didn’t want to drive all that way that late at night (my shift ends at 9:30pm, but I guess that’s too late for her to be driving, not that she’s too old or anything like that, she’s in her late 40’s for cryin’ in the mornin’), so she told me to find an other ride home. So, I asked my boyfriend again, and he said his parents would say “NO” again, so I called my cousin, thinking, “Hey, she’s family, and she’ll gladly give me a ride if she doesn’t already have plans.” So I called her and she said that she didn’t have plans, and that she could give me a ride home, so I breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed.
Now here comes the whole point to this rant: I’m not allowed to have my cell phone on me while at work, so I had it with the rest of my stuff in the little cubby space where we all keep our purses, water bottles, jackets, etc… and at 9:00 pm when the store closed, I pulled out mine and my fellow employee’s stuff from the cubby and put it on the counter. I, being almost 21, and have had a cell phone since the age of 15, have grown accustom to text messaging and immediately checked my phone for any v-mail’s or texts. I had no v-mail, but I did have a few texts, two unimportant from my brother, and two from the cousin who was picking me up. The first asking why my mom couldn’t pick me up, the second I got at 8:30 and it said, “I’m not going to be able to pick you up today. I’m ready to go to sleep. Sorry.” WTH, right? After she had promised to pick me up, she has the gall to send me that. So, in a panic, I frantically explain my situation to my manager and she lets me use the phone to call home. I call my mom and told her what my cousin just did to me and she tells me that she can’t pick me up because both she and my dad have been drinking and my mom knew that she’d had enough to know that she couldn’t drive, so she says to call my grandma. That I do and it’s Grandma to the rescue. My grandma come’s picks me up and takes me home.
Well, that’s the end of my rant, hope you liked it, and if you’d like to, go ahead and comment.

Continuing the post though:... my wifes family is crazy... ok her mother is. Well.. not so much crazy, but rather more like the devil incarnate. Seriously. Theres way to much stuff to mention, I could write several books of her antics... let me summerise for you.

1. In process of divorcing 5th husband. Has 5 kids, 3 different dads. Shes only 40. That gives you an idea of her character.
2. Whilst her only daughter was away traveling across Scotland, she used her daughters credit cards and maxed out thousands of bucks, with no intention of paying them off. And yet, she goes off to vegas and spends hundreds of bucks gambling away. Then won't apologise and try to fix the situation.
3. When the mother in laws own mother was in getting surgery on her cancer, all she could talk about was her hair, and how she was going to look for a party... and then, all during the recovery period, not once did the mother in law visit her own mother at home to help out with anything... my wife, the grand daughter did everything.

Okaaaaaaaaaaaaay, I kinda got carried away :) Oh well... you get the picture. Not a nice lady... but whats weird is.. she has the evil control over people... thats what makes her scary.
3.

Hey... how did you know... she had complete control over everyone in the family... she always gets what she wants... it was very strange....then my wife married me... that threw a spanner in the works... I wasn't taking any of her crap... so needless to say, she probably has a voodoo doll of me somewhere... luckily, the rest of the family like me.

i find it stranger that drucilia and i live in the same place.
well i'm at UA now so not exactly, but the parentals still are. thats pretty freaky my friend.

ok, my brother in law's family sounds like your family H&H. thats insane. and about every three weeks, his mother decides that there is a feud going on and does ridiculous things like exclude a member from some family event like a kid's b-day party.
this year my sister, her husband, AND their children were not invited to thanksgiving.

why don't you shut up? way to make me feel dumb. well you never said anything anyways so thats all on you.

ok i have another one. my mother comments every time i come home "did you gain weight? maybe you should try watching what you eat." i'm 5'7" 125lbs, i do NOT need to watch what i eat. i will eat an entire cow if i want to. and i'm sure i could if i put my mind to it. she is also ashamed of my sister who let herself go a bit after haveing 3 kids...3 kids...a little spare tire isn't bad after 3 KIDS. but what an embarrassment. ugh. if i ever have children, and i hope it doesn't come to that, i plan on ballooning into the biggest whale of a woman you've ever seen.

Think it was this bit in your post that gave it away

Little Vache, you need to take control with her, it's not always easy, but you probably just need to set the record straight on what is and isn't her concern.
Also, the whole putting on weight during/after pregnancy is totally avoidable. The main problem as far as I can see if the fallacy of the 'eating for two' idea, it seems that many women use this (along with 'cravings') as an excuse to eat twice as much. How many 1 year olds eat as much as an adult? none. So how much do you think an unborn would need? From what I've been hearing (from friends that have been pregnant) you only need the equivalent of a Mars bar extra in your diet (can't remember if that is per day or per week though).
Consult a doctor and eat sensibly, then a woman should have a perfectly health baby without putting on too weight.
