So far both attacks have been stopped fairly quickly, so inconvenience has been minimal for most people (aside from me!), what does cause a problem overall is that is spam messages get out from the server, then there is a risk of being black listed. This will probably become more common over time. I do have some other ideas to stop it though, will try and get time to implement a couple of them at the weekend, with any luck they should be fairly invisible to normal users.
