Halifax actually is or was a bank in the UK - so that is not as out to lunch as some may think. However, coming from the CITY of Halifax would make more sense would it not... Considering the french translation one would therefore come to the rather obvious conclusion that this is the Halifax located in CANADA (bi-lingual country using both english and francais) which is of course quite close to the UK (in relation to the west coast of Canada which is not so close)
On that note Halifax is the provincial CAPITAL of NOVA SCOTIA, and boasts to be the SECOND LARGEST coastal city in Canada.
So now you know.... just thought i'd straighten that out.
