This year Judas Priest have bounced back from oblivion with a stonking new album and last year Green Day got it back together again with American Idiot and are winning awards left, right and centre....so got me thinking...what other good comeback albums have there been? Which is the best?

'With Teeth' by Nine Inch Nails could probably be classed as a comeback album, not sure Trent had done anything else in the last few years (nothing comes to mind for this millenium), is a good album as well.

Fear Factory's 'Archetype' was good in my opinion, given that Fear Factory were pretty dead and buried a few years ago it was a good come back. Granted it's not up there with Soul of a New Machine or the classic Demanufacture, however compared to what else is out there for that kind of music in the last few years, it holds up well.

Although Greenday seemed to have bounced back I dont think so.
I think this album did well becaus it deals with hate towards bush. At the moment everyone wants a bit of that. ALthough I myself think bush is a total idiot, that not because of music.

However back to topic I don't know any off the top of my head so i'll reply later

Depends on what we're classing as a comeback. Althought Velvet Revolver are a new band you could also argue it was a comeback for it's individual members...and a fine one at that.

yeah, Velvet Revolver had crossed my mind as well!

Don't think Anit-Bush feeling would have helped Greenday much. They have a great album with superb music and I can say that I bought it because it was Greenday, opinions of Bush didn't even cross my mind.

would have to disagree, I didn't really like that album much :( It didn't have the energy of his other albums and seems more mellow, and a few of the songs at the end wouldn't be out of place in a 'trendy' night club. Of course, I do prefer his fast paced music (Irresponsible Hate Anthem, Beautiful People, etc)

On topic, come back albums that Maidens 'A Matter Of Life And Death' album was a great return to form, also Body Count's 'Murder 4 Hire'

Fair does, it isn't quite as good as some other songs but maybe this album needs to age a bit first. In my opinion it's still quite a good comeback album, If I Was Your Vampire and Putting Holes In Happiness are amazing!

A Matter Of Life And Death had some good songs but I haven't really heard much of the old stuff so I can't comment much on it. I haven't heard of Body Count, what are they like?

Body Count are good old heavy metal, even though Ice T is the singer, it's not quite rap-metal.
Have a look at their MySpace page (wish I had some better links than this!!) http://www.myspace.com/bodycount - has a few songs from the Murder For Hire album

Note, none these songs are safe for work/School/public places!
