The Wachowski brothers return with an adaptation of the cult comic V For Vendetta. Starring Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving, stars of three of biggest movies (all trilogies! Star Wars, Matrix and Lord of the Rings) in recent years.

The story is of a corrupt government and police state, and V - the man fighting the system. I'm not familiar with the comic/graphic novels, so don't know too much about the full plot, however the buzz being generated about this movie, and the very nice looking trailer, has me looking forward to this one!

The full trailer is now online for V For Vendetta, also available in lovely Hi-Def

This is looking fantastic, really excited about seeing this now. I've been reading a number of good reports about this movie over at Aint It Cool News, people there seem to be really digging the film. Even although the original creator of the V comic doesn't like the changes that have been made to the story, it seems that the changes are working very well for the film.

Wow. Thats all I can. I went in not expecting much, as I didnt know much about it... even thought it looked a lil bit cheesy from the trailer. Was I wrong, this film blew me away. It was amazing. Superb story with incredibly detailed characters, a step above most comic book themed based movies.

Would definitely recommend this film.

oh good because i knew i wanted to see it but the whole clown mask thing (or whatever it was) kinda made me go "huh?" so i thought maybe i'd pass. but if natalie portman was willing to have her head shaved and do it on camera...i think i could go for it. :)

actually the story behind the mask is pretty intreguing. Its not hokey or cheesy in the slightest. (well, theres some corney parts I think,. but they are obviously meant to be lighthearted).

You know what... this film isnt a special effects movie.. yeah theres some explosions and stuff, and some fisticuffs (although not nearly as much as you may think)... its definitely a character driven story rather than kung fu film. Dont let that dissuade you from seeing it, its still a superb show. FX are minimal, or so intergrated you dont even notice them :)

movies today tend to depend alot on computers for special effects and i think it makes a movie look kinda fake. cheapens it in a way i guess, so i'm glad its NOT like that.

I think lots of directors are relising that sometimes it's a good idea to not spend all there moneys on FX, instead there putting it towards the actors.

omg i saw the movie last night and i thought it was SO good! i know it was set in england, but it really seemed like a message to america i think and how they're headed to a very bad place. (my friends and i had a long discussion about it after we saw it) it was very very good. sad. but good.

not see it yet, but have heard about the political points it makes, funny that they are so applicable now, when the story was actually written years ago (80s or 90s I think)

i think maybe they'd always apply. any powerful country is really always on the edge and can turn extreme in a second.

p.s did you know that on the explosion scenes they had too construct a model of london and then blew it up no special effects
when filming the scenes with soldiers people were have romoured to have called the police because hundreds of soldiers were marching around?

he was back in the end along with all the people who had died. it was symbolic. they did't come back to life or anything. if you notice, the little girl and lesbian couple are also standing there. but yeah. love this film.

I FINALLY saw this film last week, I loved it!
Although I didn't really notice that the dead people were back at the end (except the little girl, though I thought it was her brother/sister), someone told me about it - however I think the idea behind that was to show that the people that were effectively 'erased' by the black bags were never actually forgotten.
