It's been a long time since I read the Hobbit, but from discussions I've had, I think that it has a massive battle at the end, possibly bigger than the battle in Return of the King

I'm sure the movie will adjust it slightly so that we still see the battle while he is unconcious!

Cool! I can't wait for this one! Something to look forward to! Also that 'big battle' your refering to is 'The Battle Of The Five Armies' Bilbo kinda puts the ring on and wanders up a hill getting hit on the head in the process and then being thought dead.

Uh in the hobbit Sauron is in hiding in Mirkwood and is known as necromancer I think.. Read because gandalf explores there and stuff inbetween the hobbit and lotr. Sauron is driven out of his disguise and returns to Mordor and becomes the 'eye' at the top of the tower.

You what what we should do? Make a time machine and bring movies back to todays time and release them now. That way there would be no need to wait.

I hope it going to be as good as LOTR!

Guillermo Del Toro is now officially the director of the Hobbit movies, with Peter Jackson as producer.
Filming should start next year with the films being released in 2010 and 2011. Still a long wait then
