Travelmates are not pc's. The Acer Travelmate series are designed for business and general use, on the move. They have extended battery life from using Centrino processors. the top end Travelmates are superb for graphics anyway, with built in Radeon 9700 graphics.

Dell tend to be good machines, but we seem to find one in every 100 has a few major problems. If you can afford it, try and get the Acer Aspire T130. It is an amazing machine, and a very good price. If it is for using Flash only there is not much need for a high end machine. You will not need a graphics card for flash, nor a big hard drive. A Athlong 2400+ with 512mb pc3200 ram would be more than enough for your needs.

As you can tell, my shop is an Acer dealer. lol

Dell are good as BB says (he is also correct about the occasional problems as well), IBM are also good but you pay for it!

Advent are well priced for what you get, though with a lot of use they don't last so well (of the 4 advents laptops we have had, each of them has had to be returned at least twice for repair), by the time you add an extented warranty you might be better buying something else.

My own computer is custom build. I don't like having trade offs, so I just buy all the bits that I want to have - which currently includes 3 disc decives (CDROM, DVD+/-RW, CD-RW), 5 HDDs and good graphics (though due an upgrade soon!)

Not necaserily (spelt wrong) it just depends on who builds it, best off getting a custom built one from a warehouse or friend not the shop because thats when it starts costing alot.
