Heres a story I wrote..

Once upon a time there was a small badger who had a very large head, his name was Ben. Ben would often enjoy going off on adventures with his other animal friends even if they did often cause mischeif! So on one sunny day Ben decided to go and explore the Wodgermatodger woods which was a dark and scary place where young Wombles would hang around.

This would make a good prologue to a longer short story, or possilby the opening chapter of one. We need some back story and ideas of whom these characters really are (emotionally). Good work so far.
