New Slipknot album (The Subliminal Verses) is out in the UK today and first impressions are good! I'll be listening to it many times over the next week to to be sure! The current single, Duality, is a fantastic sing.

I thought I should tell you all that :)

I lsiten to Rammstein already, I've heard a little Mudvayne but have not heard of Dog Fashion Disco or Brujeria. Will have to look them out and give them a listen!

Brennan, unfortunate, Slipknot are great! Then again, variety is what makes us all so interesting

Like with all my music albums, I'll have to find it reasonably cheap before I buy it!! But it is one I'll be wanting.

Give me time, and I'll find it that price!!

Well, I've got the LE for £7 delivered now... it was from someone on another forum that I use, so can't give people a link to a shop or anything...

But I got it for a price I was willing to pay!!!

Now just have to send the money off and wait for it to arrive!

Got it and listened to it. It was pretty good, but not as good as Iowa. Didn't have any songs that were as catchy as quite a few on Iowa, so overall the album isn't as memorable. Still pretty good though.

Yuo need to give some more listening!
Duality is fantastic and some of the songs towards the end of the album are a bold move by Slipknot, not the kind of songs you would typically expect from them but they are still good.

I had thought on first listening that it wasn't as catchy, but havin listened to it many times now itreally has taken hold of me!

you'll meet serious opposition to that claim here! I've seen Slipknot in concert twice and they are fantastic. Vol3 showed some serious development for them as a band and at the same time their songs were still intense!

tom_h - all he said is that you'll meet serious opposition to your views! He didn't saw "you are WRONG" or anything like that! As you said yourself, forums are places where you express your opinions, and yours is as equally valid as anyone else's.

You see it one way, steviepunk sees it another - you've both expressed views, and that's all. He hasn't said he doesn't like you or anything like that, so don't take it that way!!

maybe I should have used some smilies!!

as Degen said, everyone can have an opinion, so long as you can back it up, I don't mind it being expressed here.

So far off of their new album I've heard Screa and Pulse of The Maggots.. Both good songs completely different to their old styles and dare I say it.. they seem to be going to a more Fear Factory style of music.. (Melodic vocals to mad screaming and heavy riffs..)

Fair comparison, though the overall description sounds like Fear Factory the resulting sound is significantly different. powerful songs, and they still have the hard and aggressive stuff on there as well, Prelude 3 is good, so is the next track (can't remember it's name) and Duality is brilliant.

guys, two of the slipknot memberss had side "projects"
Murderdolls- a poor excuse for a band
Stone Sour-Slipknoty style, they rock.

Kerrang! best of 2004 has the song Pulse of the Maggots

But I want to say why has people lost their interest in slipknot?

Stevie did u go in the Mosh pits? ;)
