The offical website for NFS Underground2 is now online:

http://www.eagames.com/official/nfs/underground2/us/home.jsp

Game looks to evolve from the original game into something much more open.

Will feature a full city that the player can explore as they hunt for races to compete in and places to buy new upgrades.
There will be more customization options and will allow more detail on car tuning than before, there will also be more cars available to you

going by the screenshots, looks like you'll have ability to customise you ICE layout as well, though not sure how will actually affect the game!

Sounds interesting, I'll be looking forward to this

I think, as you upgrade your ICE it should change the songs available, and make them sound better.

maybe, but which artists will be happy to be default songs instead of Level 3 songs? You know how up themselves some R and B stars can be!

I was thinking that it will probably change the reputation level of your car the same way that the various cosmetic changes in the first game did.

I do like your idea though, would be a nice touch if they can keep the artists egos in check!

well, they may always just make it so sound quality changes.

possible, though it might be seen as damaging to the quality of the series if sound quality is not at it's best to begin with, however it could happen.

I was wondering if we'll see the base units pumping while you drive (and if it's done in time to the music it will be even more impressive!).

that would be good, as I am an sound system expert (sounds big headed but true). I would expect to see leading brands in there. Also it should be made realistic, putting to much ICE in should weigh the car down and result in less performance on the track, but more respect on the street.

Maybe as you add more ICE your ability to drive lessens as you become deaf and confused while driving

Trailer is now available for NFSU2 and it looks fantastic. The city looks incredible and detail in the graphics is great. hope the racing is as good as it was in the first one, we could all be in for a real treat

Trailer is available from www.Eurogamet.net at the following link:
http://www.eurogamer.net/file_service_files.php?action=show_file&file_id=59

The file on Eurogamer is a BitTorrent download, so for those of you without BitTorrent, I have put the file up as a proper download here -> http://www.swoj.com/misc/nfsu2.wmv
