fyi...i have read all five books, listened to them on cds (audiobooks), and have seen the two movies. i also assisted the library in putting on a Hogwarts party when the fifth book came out, and my two wee-est siblings went to it. So if i'm an immature freak, sue me! but i read loads of stuff for all ages and frames of mind, so this is just another set of books to me...and btw, if you're turning up your nose at them before reading them, then i have to say, that's being stupid...forget what other people would think, any book is enjoyable when it's well written, and these are. I should know, i've read hundreds of thousands of books in my life, i own about 2000 books both fiction and non fiction, and i'm nearly finished with my first novel. So there! lol

of course...over here in the good ol' US of A, it'd be Harry Pothead and the sorcerers stoned!!! and i hate to say it but my two cousins ages 12 and 10, made a satirical home movie called Harry Pothead...but they meant it about him wearing a pot on his head....so when they showed it to our family at our last family gathering....all the adults freaked out, lol!!!

Read the thread title "Harry Pothead and the philosiphers stoned", not sure if he is referring to a spoof or if he just doesn't like Harry Potter!
Nick, can you enlighten us? Do you not like Harry Potter?

Thanks for the interest! it's about 2 siblings and their cousin...they wake up one night because of a sudden suicide in the family and everything's changed for them...people they love are dying and they don't know why, and they're on the run in search of a place of sanctuary...being chased by something or someone who either wants to destroy them or use them for some vile purpose....
that ambiguous enough??? lol
Void! let's hear about yours!

actually, there's two of them, but im only working on one at the time (this is kinda long): it takes place on a completely different planet...on this planet there's a desert where one mine worker, Jura, finds a box. inside is a paper with one word on it: RADERA. this is the name of an ancient city that held a very evil power. the mages of the city tried to seal the power away, but failed and no one knows what happened. except for one person. Jura is able to unlock the secret of the map and find the city, where he finds out what happened to the people. they were all mutated by the power of the city, except for one person, named Riva. she returns with Jura to civilization, where they find out that someone else is headed to Radera, a man named Saren. he is the 'heir' to the power of the city and isnt planning to use it for good. there are a bunch of battles fought over the city between the mutants, the good guys, and the bad guys...but im going to leave it at that to save the ending for later
