the books were very good, been a long time since I read them though.

The movies are probably the best book -> movie conversions that there has been

I'll probably try and read the book again at some point.

I'm waiting for the Extended edition of Two Towers to buy, the Extended version of The Fellowship had quite a bit more in it, though as you say, there will still be bits left out (I think squeezing a book of that size into the time frame they have done is still pretty impressive!)

you'll have to persevere! Or try reading The Hobbit first, it's a bit more managable

yes, move along at such an incredible speed all you hear is the sound of air rushing past your ears. It makes a 'whooshing' sound. hence, the whoosh.

I've lost you again, haven't i???

Lord of the Rings is great movies, BUT! The actor who plays the dark lord Saraman (cannot spell it) will not be in the third film as every scene with saraman has been axed and the character is not in the films!!!!!

Saruman ...yeah, i read that too...that's very odd...and for the life of me i can't remember what he did in the third book so maybe he really wasn't needed. Feel sorta sorry for Christopher Lee tho.
