Underworld is released in the UK this friday... looks like it should be pretty cool if the trailer is anything to go by...

Vampires against werewolves, with lots of black leather clad people, guns and apparently a sword fight or two as well!

Hope its good.

If anyone has seen it post your thoughts on it, but mentioning any spoilers.

alot of movies have a Matrix feel to them these days, since the Matrix pretty redefined the action genre!
Out of all the films that are taking queues from the Matrix, the only one I have seen that actually uses the slow motion effect in a uniquely different way is The One. good film!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Underworld as well, does look good.

If it is half as good as The Crow it will still rock! As for The One, I hated it first time round cause I was hoping for a good Jet Li fight fest, showing off his ability to the best, like he has done in a lot of his Hong Kong films, but The One did not deliver in that dept. at all.

But watched it again last weekend, and this time as I knew what to expect, and that it wasn't what I originally hoped for, I looked at it as an action film, rather than a Jet Li film. I ended up really liking it this time! Shows how much expectations and hopes can taint your opinions!

So far I've no expectations on Underworld as I've tried to make sure I only know the basics. There are no real big name people in there (which is good) so hopefully it'll be a good movie!

I was the same, was really disapointed with The One the first time I saw it, but when I saw it on DVD is was great!

I really try to go to all films with no expectations (was kind of hard with Matrix Reloaded) so I can just sit back and enjoy

Not long back from seeing Underworld.

It rocked!

The gunfights could have been a little better, but other than that, on the whole it was really good. DEFINITELY worth seeing, and buying when it comes out on DVD/VHS.

Well, if you will allow more characters to be typed into the thread title section, it might be renamed that! Or is that not something you have control over?

I probably could change it but it's long enough not to be much of a problem just now!

Good news for all you people that liked Underworld...

Underworld is set to become a trilogy for Lakeshore Entertainment and Screen Gems. Screen Gems has made a deal for Danny McBride and Len Wiseman to write a sequel to the vampire and werewolf thriller, which Wiseman has said he would again direct.

Screen Gems and Lakeshore hope to put the second film into production as soon as possible. A third film, a prequel, could follow. No deal is in place for star Kate Beckinsale, though she has expressed interest in reprising her part.

The first film earned $21.8 million last weekend, Screen Gems' best opening for a film ever.
