I've heard a few rumours about that. They had been planning a Magneto origin film, but that seems to be on hold just now (has been for a while, but the latest comment on that was just a few days ago read about it here) however their have also been rumours of further spin offs from the Wolverine movie (possibly Gambit and a few others) that are being considered depending on how this film does. And there is also X-Men: First Class which is getting ready.

aahhh i'm so glad gambit is in it! i was wondering when he was going to show up! when i first heard of this movie i wasn't too sure, but after seeing the trailer (especially in the theaters) it looks REALLY good!

Will be interesting to see how much of the movie is him pre-weaponX and how much takes place after it.
The point of the film is supposed to be to build on his background, which would suggest a lot of time before the weapon X program gives him his claws - however everyone going to see it is going to want to see him in action with his claws...

hmmm...thats interesting. i wouldn't mind him getting his claws just at the end of the movie to be honest.
