A remake of the classic 50's movie about an alien that comes to Earth to warn mankind of it's imminent destruction, however, having taken human form begins to have an effect on him.  The Day The Earth Stood Still stars Keanu Reeves as Klaatu (the alien!) and Jennifer Connelly.

this looks so weird.  i'll watch it because i love keanu reeves, against popular opinion i know.  i'll basically watch anything he's in.
not exactly what i was expecting now that this trailer is out.  all the ones i've seen before just sort of hinted at an invasion, it didn't show any sort of destruction.  i think it'll be good though.
i think i'm excited lol.

Got to be said, I'm a fan of Keanu as well.  Sure, he's not a De'Niro, but when he gets a roll that suits him he is great (Bill and Ted, Point Break, Matrix trilogy, A Scanner Darkly and Constantine to name a few).

I'm looking forward to this film though, does look good.  Not seen the original yet, will wait until after I've seen this version.

i did some research and this is considered more of a "reimagining" than a "remake" because the original ended with the warning that if we don't all get along and stop warring on each other, all the other aliens out there were gonna destroy humans.  it had to do with nuclear warfare.  but i think this one has more to do with being environmentally conscious.  or so i've heard.
