New news (and screenshots) has been released that reveals that both Darth Vader and Yoda are available as special characters in the upcoming Soul Caliber IV game. Sounds like a good idea to me, though I guess we'll all have to suspend believe while playing since I doubt that the light sabres are going to but through the primative metal weapons used by the games regular characters! http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3165334

Further reports indicate that both characters will not be present on both consoles. Darth Vader will be exclusive to the PS3 and Yoda will be exclusive to the Xbox360. Seems very stupid to me as it's not like either of the characters have any prior exclusive association with any console - unlike the previous Soul Calibar which had Link (Zelda) in the Gamecube version, Yoshimitsu (Tekken, a PS exclusive game) on the PS2 version and Spawn (big in the USA) on the Xbox version.
Of course, the reason could be that Lucas Arts don't want us to have a Vader/Yoda show down and don't want there to be an answer to the 'Who would win?' question (If Vader would win, then Yoda isn't the powerful master he's made out to be, while if Yoda would win then why did he just hide on Degoba all those years?)
