Woohoooooo.... we are one step closer to a Star Trek world... look how cool the new Apple iPhone/iPod is! www.apple.com/iphoneIts a star trek pad if ever I saw one. I waaaaaant one.... I hope they don't lock it to a specific network provider as they have a habit of doing over here, so hopefully they allow all networks to utilise it since I just signed a new 2 year contract :(

I think it costs too much and lacks space. I hear it only has 8GB space and costs $600 Full On Design

does look quite good, thought think I'd have to try using one before I'd buy one. Features like the lack of replaceable battery is being cried a big mistake in the phone market by many people, though I'd have to say that I've never had a phone long enough that it got to the point of having to replace the battery so I'm not sure that would really be an issue.
What does get me is that the screen on this is bigger than the iPod, makes me think that the the 'true' video iPod is not too far away!
After looking at the site, it doesn't show how you actually dial a number... shows how I can select people from my address book, but not how to dial a new number, if that isn't very easy then the phone will get annoying

I showed it to my wife and she would buy it purely as an ipod... although the price was a bit steep... I guess ill wait until they turn the video ipod into this style then ill get that. Too cool. Im guessing the way dialing will work is there will be a main button you simply click on to bring up the number pad to dial... seems the logical thing to do.

yeah, though given the popularity of the click wheel, I have imagine that they would have a modified click wheel acting as an old style phone dialer! lol

What I would like on all portable Apple products is a detachable battery, My friend got an iPod and after like a few months the battery life sucked! I think it does look like a mac to work, though I might use one for business (As it's like a blackberry (sp?)). Full On Design

i'm skeptical...i think its a lot of money to pay for something that 1. isn't all that attractive, 2. has about 50 options that i won't use, and 3. has a bad track record in reliability.

I think phones these days are to complicated. My dad says mobiles should be for phoning, and nothing else. *puts Eric Idle beside Little Vache*

You know I'm exactly the same. I might text if need be. The main time I call would be on skype mind, it's like 0.00001 pence per a minute calls to anywhere! Full On Design

I don't know how much a pence is off the top of my head (which is filled with cannibus) but sentences like that make me glad to have been born in dumb old America with it's easy monetary system.
